HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY 2024
Celebrate extraordinary mothers! Elephants are some of our planets most dedicated mothers, investing years into raising their offspring. Males remain in their family into their early teens (approximately 12-16 years) while females remain with their mother for life. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you celebrating THIS YEAR!

Coolamon Rotary Bulletin for Week of 19/05/2024
Meeting of Monday 13th May 2024
Our President John Bond “Bondy” welcomed 22 members to the meeting tonight. This was a regular meeting with some business discussed including:
- Paul had received an invitation to the Lions Change Over night which is on the 28th June at the sports Club at $32 per head. Click on the image below for a larger version.
- Paul reminded all present that our own change over dinner is on Monday July 1st details on cost will be announced as soon as possible.
- Mary Potts reported on the Rotary Health Van or MHERV that was in Coolamon on Saturday the 11th. It was a very successful day and according to Judith Whitbread from the Coolamon Medical Centre, with Jennifer the nurse who accompanies the van; there were:
- We provided 82 people with immunizations.
- 71 flu Vaccinations
- 38 Covid-19 Vaccinations
- 23 Japanese Encephalitis. All in all Jennifer said that the visit to Coolamon was the third largest turn out for MHERV in two years. The support by the residents has prompted the Shire to look at a regular visit by MHERV. Maybe every 6 months and visiting towns like Ardlethan. We thank our volunteers who worked on the day which included; Mary, Annie, Vicki, Daryl, Ian, Bear, Scott, Garth, Wayne Lewis and Leo Dekroo.
- Annie reported on the RYDA event in Wagga. Howard, Henk and Annie volunteered to help the Wagga Wagga Rotary Club with around 100 students attending on the Friday which was the last day of a four day week of RYDA.

- Garth reminded us that the cyclists from Adelaide will be with us on Monday next.
- Garth has one seat left for a visit to Batlow for the 23rd May where there is a joint club meeting.
- We sang happy birthday for Myffy and reminded all members that Myffy has a celebration for her 80th journey around the sun entitled “Mingle in the Garden & Gallery” see the diary.
We then had some fun and the raffles were won by:
1st prize to Henk Hulsman a $25 voucher
2nd prize 1 million $ Zimbabwe cash note to Lesley
3rd prize a bottle or red wine to Don Dyce.
Then the S@A and his corporal got busy started slow but quickly warmed up and had us all laughing and of course Bruce was fined for his dog story and I still don’t know if it lived!
Another most enjoyable evening of some Rotary business and a lot of fun.

2. SOCIAL EVENTS FOR OUR CLUB
MARCH 2008 RUTHERGLEN AND YACKANDANDAH WEEKEND
One of our best social weekends took place in March 2008 when we visited Rutherglen and Yackandandah. We stayed at a motel in Rutherglen and hired a bus to do a winery tour. On the Sunday we went to the Yackandandah fair and markets. Here are some photos of that memorable weekend away from home.
More ideas wanted for social events either a weekend or one close to home.
