Bangkok Day 3

Beautiful music beautiful ladies.

What a day!  best plenary session ever great speakers followed by a very busy afternoon in the House of Friendship and to complete the day a reception for Bequest Society members.  Photos below cannot do the day justice.

Antipoverty crusader Hugh Evans, cofounder and CEO of the Global Poverty Project.  Great speech and what a wonderful ambassador for Australia.

Microcredit pioneer Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, commended Rotarians for their work in developing microcredit loans for the poor.  One of the best presentations that I have ever had the privilege to hear.

Angelique Kidjo, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and activist , said the world has many health issues for which there are no solutions, but added that “the most frustrating are the ones for which we have a solution and not enough is being done.”

Bangkok Day 1

Today was the opening of the House of Friendship and we had some wonderful entertainment.  All teh booths were also open and the RFFA booth was no exception.  Today was a quite day with time to catch up with old friends.  Tomorrow we expect around 38-45,000 Rotarians who knows.  It could break the record set in Japan some time ago now.

ROTI Rotarians On The Internet

ROTI is world wide and a wonderful place to learn about how Rotary works around the world and in your own club.  This map shows where we are located and how many ROTIans in each country.

ROTI’S WORLD (Thanks to ROTIAN and Canadian Chip Ross.) Zoom out to get the whole world.

ROTI is a Rotary International fellowship and the mission of ROTI is to apply modern information technology to enhance Rotary service, fellowship and knowledge, and to use Internet communications to further world understanding and peace.

ROTI members are in a special position to develop acquaintances. With members from over 100 countries, friendship and acquaintance has taken on a whole new meaning and concept. ROTI members are in a position to further world understanding in a way none have ever experienced before.

Email has now become the standard means of communication between Rotary International staff and the hundreds of Districts throughout the world.  Rotarians  now use email to communicate with their members, distribution of club bulletins, establish Projects, Matching Grants, Group Study Exchange planning, and reporting to our District and Rotary International.

ROTI members have led the way in showing the rest of Rotary how Internet communication has increased the speed and efficiency of our all our programmes.

Come join us at ROTI and be a part of this new adventure!  IT’S FREE!!!!!

Just about all the people in the following photos are members of ROTI and we meet at Rotary International Conventions around the world.  Next stop Bangkok.

GSE Team from D1010

“District 1010 Scotland North covers some of the most beautiful and famous landmarks in the world such as Eilean Donan, the most photographed Castle in the world.  We therefore hope that by navigating through this site you may be able to find a little bit about our District, our Rotarians and the work we do locally, nationally and internationally literally every day of the year.

Eilean Donan Castle

The GSE Team from D1010 only had a few days with us however we had a lot of fun with them and took them around our Shire culminating in a Mayoral reception at the Coolamon Shire Council Chambers.

Busy Rotary Week

It has been a very busy week for Rotary at Coolamon with the District Conference and the visit of the GSE Team from Scotland.  I will upload stories on all the fun times we have had over the past 7 days as soon as I recover!
